LOTTOMATICA GROUP SUBSIDIARY GTECH CORPORATION SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH SOCIETE DE LA LOTERIE DE LA SUISSE ROMANDE FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF EXISTING ELECTRONIC INSTANTS LOTTERY SYSTEM

ROME (ITALY) - PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), August 17, 2010 - Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that its subsidiary, GTECH Corporation, has signed an agreement with Société de la Loterie de la Suisse Romande (LoRo) to provide an end-to-end solution, including a core central system, terminals, and ongoing support services. This solution will allow LoRo to improve the management of several of its lottery games as well as replace its Electronic Instants Lottery (EIL) system. The agreement is expected to generate total revenues to GTECH of approximately $35 million, beginning in the third quarter of 2012.

Under the terms of the agreement, GTECH will replace LoRo’s existing central system with the INTELLIGEN™ system solution. Planned for deployment in the third quarter of 2011, INTELLIGEN will monitor up to 750 electronic lottery terminals assembled by Sadamel Ticketing Systems in the Romande region of Switzerland, utilizing a Terminal Development Kit (TDK) provided by GTECH. GTECH is also providing a portfolio of nine compelling games as well as ongoing services to LoRo through July 2021.

GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel said, “LoRo has been a valued customer since 1994, and we are fortunate that they continue to view GTECH as a trusted partner. This partnership has driven mutually-beneficial innovation and increased revenues to support good causes in the Romande region of Switzerland. Working with LoRo, listening to their needs, and understanding what their players want, we are able to quickly provide a solution that will allow LoRo to maximize those benefits for many years to come.”

“GTECH and LoRo worked together to develop the original Tactilo solution that INTELLIGEN will replace,” said LoRo Managing Director Jean-Luc Moner-Banet. “It was essential our partner understand the restrictions under which we operate Tactilo, and have the technology and resources to deliver a quality product within budget and on time. Having invested significant resources in developing an end-to-end solution that positions LoRo for the future, GTECH has once again shown its capabilities in developing unique solutions that address local market needs.”

Proceeds generated from GTECH’s end-to-end system will increase the contributions LoRo provides to the Cantons, which benefit environmental causes and cultural events, and provide much-needed support for education and healthcare programs.
