LOTTOMATICA GROUP SUBSIDIARIES GTECH CORPORATION AND GTECH PRINTING CORPORATION (GPC) AWARDED NEW ONLINE/INSTANT SYSTEM LOTTERY CONTRACT BY THE NEBRASKA LOTTERY
GTECH TO PROVIDE END-TO-END ONLINE/INSTANT LOTTERY SOLUTIONS; GPC TO PROVIDE PRIMARY INSTANT-TICKET PRINTING SERVICES
EXPECTED REVENUES TO GTECH IN EXCESS OF
$50 MILLION OVER THE SIX-YEAR CONTRACT TERM
ROME (ITALY) – PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND (US), August 12, 2010 –Lottomatica Group S.p.A. announced that its subsidiaries, GTECH Corporation and GTECH Printing Corporation (GPC), were awarded a new contract by the Nebraska Lottery to provide a unified online/instant lottery system, terminals, an IP-communications network, full service instant-ticket printing, warehousing/distribution, and ongoing services. The award follows a competitive procurement and is subject to the execution of a formal contract. The proposed six-year contract, which is expected to commence on July 1, 2011, includes four one-year extension options and will generate revenues to GTECH in excess of $50 million over the base period, beginning in the third quarter of 2011.

Patel. “Together, we will assist the Lottery in growing their business with innovative technology, enabling a holistic approach to optimizing and growing their existing online/instant game portfolio, and applying field-proven lottery best practices. These will be designed to attract new players in existing and new markets, and provide a full complement of marketing services that will help the Lottery in reaching new milestones and deliver increased contributions to benefit education and environmental programs in Nebraska.”
Under the proposed new contract, GTECH will provide its Enterprise Series solution, tailored to offer a best practices technology approach to support the Nebraska Lottery’s business plan with the flexible tools needed to increase sales. In addition, GTECH will install and maintain 1,200 Altura® GT1200 lottery terminals, as well as a new IP-communications network. GTECH will also introduce ES MultiMedia digital advertising displays to stimulate increased brand awareness of the Nebraska Lottery product line across the entire retail network at the point-of-sale. GTECH’s ticket checkers, Ticket-Scan™, will allow Nebraska players secure access when identifying winning tickets. Over the duration of the new contract, GTECH will provide the operation and maintenance of the central system and communications network; terminal maintenance; field service; hotline management; telemarketing; warehousing and distribution; and a full range of marketing consultancy in game product planning, sales analysis capabilities, market surveys and research, and retailer network reviews.
As the primary instant-ticket printer, GPC will work closely with the Nebraska Lottery over the next several years to customize a new portfolio of instant-ticket games that will appeal to existing and the next-generation of lottery players.
